Revising with a Word Processor

Words are like the pieces of a mosaic, which is formed with small chips of tile. Like a mosaic's tiles, words can be rearranged in many patterns to create an array of unique expressions. Unlike mosaics, the words writers use don’t have to be glued in place forever. Because any aspect of your text can be quickly changed on a word processor, you are free to try different combinations of words, phrases, sentences, even paragraphs until you have an arrangement that best meets your needs.

This instructional video introduces several strategies for using your word processor to easily revise your writing and encourages you to use a set strategy for revision that begins with content and organization before you focus on sentences and words.
